Position Summary: Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Coordinator is responsible for the planning, organization and implementation of activities related to the social inclusion and community development mandate of the Restigouche RSC including but not limited to poverty reduction, affordable housing, wellness and the promotion of diversity, as well as coordination of community and regional transportation projects and initiatives that will contribute to the lives of citizens of Restigouche.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of services and organizations in the Restigouche Region;
  • Experience in writing proposals and funding applications;
  • A commitment to social and economic inclusion issues and community development;
  • The ability to work with diverse groups such as: volunteer board of directors, staff, community stakeholders and government agencies.

Qualifications of the successful candidate will include:

  • Academic background in social sciences, social work, recreation, education or family studies or related discipline with a minimum of one year experience in a coordinator position. An equivalent combination of education & experience could be considered;
  • Experience in project management;
  • Fluently bilingual (English and French) – spoken and written;
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and social media platforms;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Knowledge of the challenges of working with a targeted clientele in a rural setting.

Annual Salary: $52,000 to $65,000
