Restigouche has a truly diversified economy: The forestry sector continues to play a key role in the Restigouche economy and job creation. The region is home to world-class companies in this sector be it in primary forestry, specialty pulp or value added wood processing. Other sectors, such as advanced metal manufacturing has diversified thanks to an innovative entrepreneurial spirit. The agri-food sector is also a significant component of the Restigouche economy, particularly the maple industry in the west of the region.
